Snorkeling in Saint Lucia - Pitons in view

This tour was a dream come true.

A beautiful water tour aboard a catamaran cruise to the city of Soufriere!

A full day  feeling the sunlight on my skin and the wind blowing in my hairs as we Sailed by quaint fishing villages heading to the majestic Pitons.   The peaks of the mountains at first, seen in the distance where a bit misty and so far away.  But as we got closer, it bought tears to my eyes seeing them for the first time.   The Pitons are the iconic symbol of Saint Lucia.  Pointy and very lush surrounded by water and mountains.  They are beautiful.

Arriving in Souefriere,  there where several fishing boats and sail boats anchored in the cove.  The colorful houses and business gave a warm welcome.  We boarded local buses to drive to Sulphur Springs.  The air smelled of sulphur from the only drive through volcano.  The water was warm  muddy gray color that pored from streams. We covered the mineral rich mud over our bodies and painted our war face.  Instructions were to then soak in the sulphur water pools, rinse off with a outdoor shower  but not to rinse off our faces.  We then traveled to a heritage tourism site, toraille waterfall where we then rinsed our bodies under the waterfall.  I will never forget how it felt being cleansed by that waterfall both mentally and physically. It was a very uplifting experience.

We returned back to the catamaran and enjoyed an authentic prepared local creole lunch consisting of jerk chicken, fish, rice & beans, and fresh salad along with cold drinks.  Afterwards, we sailed out to  anchor the boat, still with the Pitons in view, and snorkel.  The blue crystal clear water was like viewing a fish tank with beautiful colors and different size fish.

Sailing along the shore, there was beautiful rock formations, caves, fishing villages, boats,  a waterfall and lovely Saint Lucian Views that I will never forget and eager to return to the beautiful island.
